On the treatment to the ears of Magic:

About 6-7 months back, we noticed dark secretion through Magic's ears and he
was scratching near the ears. We showed him to his vet. She suggested that
we use over the counter cleaning and drying agents and that she will give
anti-biotics if that does not cure.

We used 'Lambert Kay's EAR-RITE Insecticidal Ear Wash for Dogs' once a week
for about a month.  We applied the solution inside the ear and massage at
the base of the ear for about 4-5 minutes.  After Magic shakes the solution
off, we applied a drying powder called '8 in 1 Ear Powder by 8 in 1 Pet
products'.  I am sure you can use other makes.  This one has 5% IODOFORM.

After the first month,  we started using a ear cleaning solution called 'VET
solutions Ear Cleansing Solution for Dogs and Cats'.  We use this solution,
instead of the above EAR-RITE once a week. We again follow it with the Ear
Powder.  Now a days, we use the EAR-RITE only once in a couple of months.

We use the Ear Powder after Magic takes a swim.  We first dry it with cotton
and apply the powder.

Hope this helps.
